22nd April 2012 end of week summary

As the result of P Hybrid is always going to be somewhere in between the other 2 portfolios (because it uses the same exits as the other 2 portfolios, half position on each) I have decided to give it an extra intermediate exit between that of P Taker & P Runner.

This will result in even more Sell brokerage for P Hybrid which may be too much drag at Australian brokerage rates in which case I will look at doubling the position sizes or switching to a cheaper broker such as IB..or both, but we'll see how it forward tests first before making any other changes.

Due to the complications of travelling & using unfamiliar hardware I missed the exit on NWH in P Taker & half position in P Hybrid which should have been executed on Tuesday 10th April at Market open, which was at $4.00
As I don't do hindsight trades I will exit at tomorrow's market open which sadly will probably be around today's closing price of $3.86  :(

I've been travelling over Easter & am doing the blog on a netbook. Have loaded it up with charting, screen capture, & spreadsheet software, & have discovered that it has a fan inside because it's been going flat out!

Daylight Saving

Daylight saving will finish in most states and territories on the first weekend in April.

In New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory, clocks will be put back an hour, from 3 am to 2 am, on the first Sunday in April (1 April 2012).

Daylight saving does not apply in Queensland, Western Australia or Northern Territory.

In hindsight I would have liked to have bought SXY when I mentioned I was watching it back in January.

But then, hindsight trading is always easy & always profitable! You just say you bought such & such after it has already gone up 5 or 10% and then you wait till it goes down  & then say you sold it a few days to a week ago!
